Josh's Brother

Since this is our family's journal, I need to write about our night last night. As a lot of you know from my previous post that within the last year we learned the news about Josh's brother Jeff who is 38, married and has 4 younger kids developed cancer. I know lots of people get cancer and there are so many different types of cancer and various treatments that a lot of time the outcome is good and people survive. My brother in law Jeff developed a vary rare type of cancer that even the Hunstman Cancer Society had never seen a case of this type before. They started aggressive treatment of Chemo and thought that it had worked and he was cancer free. Later he developed a pain and thought it was a torn muscle went to have a cat scan and learned that he wasn't cancer free but that the cancer had spread and his chances were very slim. Now he has gone through tons of chemo, radiation, vegan diet and any holistic treatment that he could for the last month. Yesterday was another scan to see if all of this has helped. Last night we got a phone call from Jeff, Josh's dad and sister. I knew when Josh was talking to Jeff and be broke down after he hung up that it wasn't good news. The treatment shrunk the original tumor, but that the other cancer has now spread to his liver and lungs and that his brother wanted to see us in the next month if possible. My heart breaks for his family, we are just devastated that this could happen to such a great man and I am still in a little bit of shock with accepting it. We are now getting things in order this week and will be leaving to take a trip out there in the next week or two to go spend time with him before he returns to heavenly father. I know that even though we don't understand why this is happening to their family, our father in heaven really must need his special spirit with him. Jeff has touched the lives of so many people and has done so much missionary work to many people through this trial in his life. He has left a life long impression on us of his continued strength, courage, endurance and faith in living the gospel of Jesus Christ and never giving up when things get hard or seem impossible. This life really is short and we are here to perfect ourselves, serve others and live the gospel so that we can return back home to our heavenly father. I am so thankful that families can be together forever, I am thankful for Josh's family and all of the kindness. love and support they have shown to us.

We love you Jeff, Cindy and kids with all of our heart, this is not an end but a beginning!
